Speaker Spotlight: Andy Robertson

Tell us an interesting fact about you?

I often cry at video-games and find them a spiritual and often prayerful place to spend time.

I run 50 miles a week, most weeks.

Why are you passionate about digital?

Digital is the air we breath, it’s a reality as real as reality. More than this it’s a space where spirituality, imagination and new worlds of possibilities combine. Also, it’s a lot of fun and offers unexpected opportunities for people of all faiths.

Name a hero of yours (other than Jesus!)

Donald Draper, although a broken and lost man at times his passion and ability to do and say what needs to be done is inspiring. Joel from the Last of Us is another hero, a man who struggles to come to terms with losing his daughter, but somehow manages to find his peace.

What can people expect from your session?

To discover how games can be spiritual. Why violence in video-games is similar to violence in the bible. Practical suggestions of using video-games in worship, and personal devotion.

What most excites you about #PremDAC19?

The chance to network and discover what other people of faith are discovering in the digital space.
