Speaker Spotlight: Nathan Spicer

Born in the UK, Nathan spent many of his teenage year in Zambia, Africa as his parents served as missionaries. Having moved back to the UK as a 17 year old, Nathan established a career with IBM working in the tech sector covering a wide area of specialties. Nathan, his wife and two children, emigrated to Australia in 2009 to take up a position with CV where he was able to combine his heart for mission, with his passion and skills.

Nathan has since pioneered yesHEis into a global evangelism product for CV and is currently focused on providing free digital resources to churches so the message of Jesus can go everywhere.

Nathan is an early adopter, loves disruptive tech and has a positive approach to all that he does. Nathan is most passionate about finding new ways for people to know Jesus.

Why are you passionate about digital?

Anything that enables us to reach, help and engage with more people should be embraced. Digital introduces a scale of conversational opportunity that other mediums don’t.

Name a hero of yours and why?

David Livingstone. I love his commitment to the unknown to take the Gospel into new and unreached places.

What can people expect from your session?

When change occurs and new methods emerge, human instinct is to protect from a place of fear. Rather than seeing new methods as threats, what if we saw them as addition opportunities not to replace but to compliment so ultimately, more people than ever before can be engaged.

What most excites you about #PremDAC20 (other than your own session!)?

Anything that seeks to stretch our imagination to new possibilities is healthy and should be embraced. When you get many different people together across a range of specialties, it can help move us from fear and trepidation to hope and confidence so we can begin to embrace the previously unknown.
